imPRESS Press-On Manicure

Image
Hello lovelies, happy Saturday we have only a few days left of Summer, and it's been especially rainy the past couple of days in Chicago. With that being said, you only get a few more special days of great weather to go coat-less, and then Fall arrives. I really love Fall because you get to layer your clothing, wear cool boots, or shoes, but  I will definitely miss the Summer months. There's so much more you can do with an outfit creatively when Fall arrives, that also includes dressing up your nails. I had the opportunity to review the  imPRESS Press-On Manicure,  and I find that they are very easy to use and apply to your natural nails. When I was in college I remember wanting long nails, so I would get acrylic overlays, those cost a fortune $30-$35 per visit, trust me on a college budget, and working my way through school, this was not an option, coupled with buying books, impossible. If you want to have nails like some of the celebrities you see, but not the cost:)   i

How It Was Styled - Wife's Day Out

Image
Hello lovelies, welcome back to another edition of How It Was Styled! This post features, something I never usually get a date with my husband.  Truly, we never really get an opportunity to be together without the kids. Work, life, kids, appointments, can all get in the way. My  wise friend, once told me that, you need time to yourselves, away from the kids. Not that the kids are bad, by any means,  or that your life is over because you have kids, but you find that you need to make necessary adjustments. Before we had kids to juggle,  we had regular dates with each other. It should definitely carry on into the marriage,  but somehow it stopped. I mentioned date nights, in our case it will be more of  day time date,  but to my husband,  this was a foreign concept. Somehow,  he seems to have turned around. It's not like we never go out, but the one on one time,  decreases significantly once you get married and have children. It's by no means a bad thing, but it just means coupl

Art is in the heart series August

Image
Hello lovelies,  I  hope you have been keeping up with the art is in the heart series. As well as getting some  enjoyment, from the posts! We started this series this Summer as a way to keep busy, but most of all we definitely love being creative, nothing is more kid friendly and fun.  Arts and crafts, DIY Projects, have taken on a whole new meaning to me. There is something magnificent about taking a project from Point A to Point B, for beautiful! My daughter is the best at doing this, she can transform cereal boxes, scrapbook paper,  and make the most amazing wall art, or cards to brighten someone's day! I fell in love with these projects that we did, so I've decided that these should  not only be for our  Summer Projects. You will get to see, more things we create periodically. There is love in being creative, specifically when you get to experience your child's creativity first hand. I love when my daughter explains her projects to me, the details about how and w

Back to school news

Hello Lovelies,  our Summer months are coming to a close, but it isn't  officially over until September 23, 2015. The last time I checked the calendar, we can still savor the best moments of the Summer, especially if the weather keeps cooperating. :) Back to School,  is the real wake up call that Summer is coming to an end :( The great thing about this topic,  is our children are either picking up where they left off, or starting on a new adventure. It's the time to remember the times, we held them in our arns, but also be excited that they are growing up a little. My sweethearts start Kindergarten & 3rd grade this year! I  can hardly believe that the time has gone by this quickly, Summer went by so quickly!  But we celebrated the important parts of life, Birthdays, Mother's Day & Father's Day. My little girl loved playing tennis, while my youngest attended school a little bit longer. Life is about living in the moments that take you to a happy place. Whether

Happy Thinking Wednesday

Image
Hello Lovelies, It's been awhile since we've done a Happy Thinking Wednesday Quote of the day. I thought this one was appropriate because Summer is in full swing, and I can't believe how close we are to the holidays. If you think happy you'll be happy, but you also have to create ways to make yourself happy, if the right people aren't in your life, it's up to you to make the effort to rid yourself of things or people that make you unhappy. Our thoughts have a process, they take on a whole new meaning. We have the power to have great opportunities exist in our lives, but we also have to be present in making the right decisions in order to make the right things happen in our lives. Nothing just happens for anyone, you have to work hard, sometimes harder than the next person. I  believe in optimism, because if you're optimistic, good things can always happen for you. Making the most out of your life, means taking every opportunity and learning from it, you

Saturday Fashion featuring SheInside

There's one thing I can never live without and that's a cute blazer or an easy breezy sweater. A sweater is something you can use even during Summer, because it can get cooler at night fall. If you're always cold like me, then you will definitely want to keep one of these lovely sweaters on hand. Sweaters are best worn with jeans, pencil skirts, or even shorts for the Summer. Now is also a great time to start thinking about transitioning items from Summer into Fall. A sweater is a great way to add versatility to your style. I read an article on www.whowhatwear.com , and the article talked about the elements of layering. You look more put together when you layer your items, for instance if you wear a shirt, pants, and shoes that's considered 3 items, these are the basics. But when you also add an interesting purse, blazer, sweater or scarf element to your outfit, it makes you look more balanced. I never knew this. We all learn something new everyday, I like layering it

How It Was Styled- Fringe Worthy

Image
Hello Lovelies, It's another day in paradise, or Summer however you want to look at it! I was lucky enough to have a chance to write this post for the Lucky Community Bloggers. And the weather was a mild 65 degrees so, I actually got an opportunity to showcase my fringe worthy boots for this post. I loved this outfit because it was very comfortable and the tank I am wearing appears to be a body suit, but it's not! It's a tank top, I love those a lot more. I also paired them with my high waisted jeans, and my cute fringe ankle boots. It was really nice to wear a different pair of sunglasses too! I am really reminding myself to try new options, especially when it comes to various sunglasses. I hope you are enjoying your Summer, although in the past couple of days, it's felt more like Fall rather than Summer, but I am sure that's bound to change sooner or later. Oh, I almost forgot the boyfriend, blazer with pinstripe sleeves, was also an item, that I really l

Thinking forward to July

Image
Hello July! It's a great time to celebrate the beginning of Summer because there are countless things that people look forward to in July. Weddings, Barbecues, Birthdays, and Fourth of July. If the weather cooperates you'll have a wonderful time celebrating with friends, family, and co-workers if you have to work:( Think of all the great times ahead, so much to think ahead of, some people will even get to enjoy concerts that they have been looking forward to all Winter long. July can be a really great time to bask in the sunshine, if you're a Chicagoan like me, you love every moment of warmth, no matter how hot it may or may not get! My daughter wasn't born during the ozone action days, we joked the other day when she saw the temperature get to 85 degrees, she thought that was the hottest that it's ever been. I was like, No, we've experienced much hotter days, where you could fry an egg on the sidewalk, and the news warned you not to go outside. My daughte

Terrific Tuesday Blog Post

Image
Hello Lovelies, in this edition of my Terrific Tuesday Blog Post, I am going to tell you about my  two favorite sites. Tell me anyone, anywhere that doesn't like to save money, or even get something for Free! I am one of those people who loves the word free or sale! My husband says, I am crazy, but if he likes full price,  I surely, do not. I have the perfect option for you to get real deals, and alerts about the places where you love to shop.  If you've never heard of or tried the Retail Me Not App, you don't know what you're missing. This past Friday, I received a notification from Red Box movie rentals for a Free Movie. I  got so excited,  you would have thought I won the lottery! I  got an offer to put in a special code that was given to me on the App, and what's really cool, is  that  Retail Me Not App lets you know the success rate of each deal. This saves the consumer so much time , to see a 25 or 90 %  success rate. My daughter and I chose an American

How It Was Styled- Feeling Fringy

Image
Hello lovelies, as you all know I am a Lucky Community Blogger and I was really excited to get this prompt to blog about Fringe. I am not really into fringe, but when I saw this very cute top with fringe detail, at EXPRESS this Summer, I couldn't resist! Needless to say, fringe is fluttery, cute, and increases your style sense. I paired this look up with my new ice washed denim pants from Charlotte Russe, and my husband purchased these for me  on his own. Wow, he's really great at shopping for me and knowing exactly what I like. I have had my yellow pumps by Bandolino, for awhile now, but they are so comfortable and very cute, they elevated the look of my outfit even more than I anticipated. If you are skeptical about wearing fringe, as I was in the beginning try it in moderation, and see if you like it! I actually had tried it,  prior to my white fringe tee,  purchased a pair of suede fringe Jessica Simpson Ankle Boots. I really love them!Lately, it's been too hot and

How It Was Styled- Birthday Edition

Image
Hello again lovelies, if you checked out my latest post, it was the Happy Birthday Edition. That post was  about my son, and how we celebrated him turning 5! Turning 5 is such an important time in a child's life because they are starting to really grow up, and go off to Kindergarten, which I am even more excited about him doing shortly! I forgot to tell you all how I actually styled myself and my daughter for our evening of celebrating, my daughter is a budding architect, artist, fashion designer, tennis player, she wants to do so much, I wonder if she'll ever get a chance to sleep! She's already an  overachiever and I love it! I chose to wear a blue/black embroidered skirt from H&M,  that my husband got me around Christmas time. I paired my skirt with a black sparkly tank top that I got from Maurices. The skirt was so comfortable and had pockets! I don't know about you, but I am a girl who loves pockets in dresses, pants, and especially skirts. It was a defini
